Ixbot is a worm that spreads via instant messages sent using AIM, AOL Triton or MSN Messenger applications. Such messages contain a certain text and a malicious link pointing to an infected file.

Ixbot Removal:
To remove Ixbot, please follow the instruction:
- Terminate the processes in Tasks Manager if exist:
umvwer.exe
- Click Start > Run. Type REGEDIT. Then click OK. Navigate to and delete the registry subkeys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run \mxb2 = "umvwer.exe"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
\mxb2 = "umvwer.exe"
- Remove the following files from %System% if exist:
umvwer.exe
