To uninstall MegaSearch:
- Click Start > Run. Type REGSVR32 -u <Dll_name>. Then click OK. Replace <Dll_name> with followings:
%WinDir%\Downloaded Program Files\megasear.dll
%SystemRoot%\megav2wbr.dll
- Click Start > Run. Type regedit.
Then
click OK.
Navigate to the subkeys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,
delete the value:
"{4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-C0FF-FA7FB592BF30}"
Navigate to and delete the following registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-C0FF-FA7FB592BF30}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\megasear.MEGASEAR
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\megasear.MEGASEARMenu Button\Clsid
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\megasear.MEGASEARToggle Button
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\MEGASEAR
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-C0FF-FA7FB592BF30}
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MEGASEAR TOOLBAR
- Remove the files in Explorer:
%WinDir%\Downloaded Program Files\megasear.dll
%SystemRoot%\megav2wbr.dll
- Remove the directory in Explorer:
%ProgramFiles%\MEGASEAR TOOLBAR\
However, a few of registry entries
may be left
behind deleting. You can ask for Spyware Doctor to clean up.
