To remove Messenger Detect, please follow the instruction:

1. Terminate the process in Task Manager:
   messengerdetect.exe
    
2. Click Start > Run. Type REGEDIT. Then click OK. Navigate to and delete the subkeys:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\digital river\softwarepassport\foryoursoft.com\messenger detect
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\messenger detect
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\messenger detect start menu folder
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall\messenger detect
   Registry management is too hard? Download Registry Mechanic , and you will find it too easy!
    
3. Remove the directory and its containing files in Explorer:
   %Program Files%\messenger detect
