SpywareStrike Description:

SpywareStrike is a rogue anti-spyware program. When installed on the users machine it detects entries which are not related to spyware or malware and makes the user think their machine is infected. This software is a successor of the infamous fake anti-spyware tool SpyAxe.

To remove SpywareStrike, please follow the instruction:

1. Terminate the processes in Tasks Manager:
   spywarestrike.exe
   ss_setup.exe
    
2. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel or Start > Control Panel. In the Control Panel window, double-click Add/Remove Programs. Click SpywareStrike 2.5. Click Add/Remove and follow the prompts.
    
3. Click Start > Run. Type REGEDIT. Then click OK. Navigate to and delete the subkeys:

   Navigate to the subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, delete the value: "SpywareStrike" = "%Program Files%\SpywareStrike\SpywareStrike.exe /h"
   Registry management is too hard? Download Registry Mechanic , and you will find it too easy!
    
4. Remove the following directory and its containing files in Explorer if exist:
   %Program Files%\SpywareStrike

Xoftspy can automatically remove the spyware. Even if you remove it manually, we recommend you should use Xoftspy to make sure it's completely removed from your system and will not be reinstalled by itself.
