Follow these steps to remove MX-Targeting from your machine. Begin by backing up your registry and your system, and/or setting a Restore Point, to prevent trouble if you make a mistake.

1. May change any of these settings, which you may need to restore manually:
   HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://tooncomics.com/main/sp.php
   HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://tooncomics.com/main/sp.php
   HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://tooncomics.com/main/sp.php
   HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://tooncomics.com/main/hp.php
   HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://tooncomics.com/main/sp.php
    
2. Kill these running processes with Task Manager:
   programfilesdir+\windows media player\loader.exe
   systemroot+\fqdin.exe
   systemroot+\iedll.exe
   systemroot+\loader.exe
   trojandownloader.win32.tooncom.b.exe
    
3. Go to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
   If you find the value HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\iedll, delete it and reboot the machine immediately.
   If you find the value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\fqdin, delete it and reboot the machine immediately.
    
4. Unregister these DLLs with Regsvr32, then reboot:
   systemroot+\dnserr.dll
    
5. Remove these registry items (if present) with RegEdit:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\iedll
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\fqdin
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\msbb
    
6. Remove these files (if present) with Windows Explorer:
   fiz0
   msbb.log
   msbb_kyf.dat
   programfilesdir+\windows media player\loader.exe
   systemroot+\dnserr.dll
   systemroot+\fqdin.exe
   systemroot+\iedll.exe
   systemroot+\loader.exe
   trojandownloader.win32.tooncom.b.exe
    
7. After following the instructions above, you will still need to restore your original settings and prevent this from happening again. Here's how.
