TVMedia is an adware, installed by driveby ActiveX download or other spyware/adware. It collects information about your browsing and sends it to their main servers which makes it spyware. It can automatically download updates and additional programs. It is also reported to cause Windows XP to crash on startup.

To uninstall TVMedia:

1. Terminate the process in TaskManager:
   tvm.exe
   
   
2. Click Start > Run. Type REGSVR32 -u <Dll_name>. Then click OK. Replace <Dll_name> with following:
   TvmBho.dll
   
   
3. Click Start > Run . Type regedit . Then click OK . Navigate to and delete the subkeys:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\tv media
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\runonce\tv media
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\runonce\tv media
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\tv media
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\winpoet
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\runonce\tv media
   
   
4. Remove the directories in Explorer:
   %ProgramFiles%\TV Media
   %ProgramFiles%\SurfSideKick 2

However, a few of registry entries may be left behind deleting. You can ask for Spyware Doctor to clean up.
