Acext Decription:

Acext is a spyware program that contacts a predefined server for tracking purposes.

This program must be manually installed or may be installed when installing another third-party program.

When Acext is executed, it performs the following actions:

1. Installs itself to %Windir%\ie_32.exe, by default.
   
   
2. Adds the value:
   
   "<variable>"="%Windir%\ie_32.exe"
   
   to the registry key:
   
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
   
   so that the program runs when you start Windows.
   
   
3. Periodically contacts the Web site, www.autoraskrutka.ru, for tracking purposes.

The following instructions pertain to some anti-virus products or anti-spyware tools that support spyware detection.

1. Update the virus definitions.
2. Do one of the following:
   • Windows 95/98/Me: Restart the computer in Safe mode.
   • Windows NT/2000/XP: End the malicious process.
3. Run a full system scan and delete all the files detected as Acext.
4. Reverse the changes made to the registry.
   
   • Click Start, and then click Run. (The Run dialog box appears.)
   • Type regedit
     
     Then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.)
     
     
   • Navigate to the key:
     
     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
     
     
   • In the right pane, delete the value:
     
     "<variable>"="%Windir%\ie_32.exe"
     
     
   • Exit the Registry Editor.
