Noptify Description:
Program is installed on hard drive from a CD
that is given to customers who have purchased new
Verizon telephones. No warning is given to
customers that Adware is being installed. The
program then runs at startup and attempts to dial
out and report browser movements. The Zone Alarm
firewall did detect this program's attempts to
send outgoing packets, and users with firewalls
therefore can block the outgoing packets.
However, the program continues its attempts to
dial out while it runs in the background, thereby
multiplying running tasks in the background.
Memory resources are seriously taxed and shutdown
problems are caused.

Shut down all instances of the program running
in the background using CTRL-ALT-DEL. Noptify.exe
resides in the Windows\Temp folder and can be
deleted from there when not running.
