Follow these steps to remove SmartSearch from
your machine. Begin by backing up your
registry and your system, and/or setting a
Restore Point, to prevent trouble if you make a
mistake.
Delete registry
entries:
Browse to the key:
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \
Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run'
Look for 'SystemEmergency', remember the file
(*) that it points to, and delete the 'SystemEmergency'
value
Browse to the key:
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \
Windows \ CurrentVersion \ RunServices'
Look for 'SystemEmergency', remember the file
(**) that it points to, and delete the 'SystemEmergency'
value
Browse to the key:
'HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \
Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run'
Look for 'SystemEmergency', remember the file
(***) that it points to, and delete the 'SystemEmergency'
value
