But KaZaA (and other free file-sharing programs) can and often do cause a variety of computers problems- Viruses can be spread over these P2P networks, and KaZaA and others come with programs called spyware which cause annoying pop-ups and can corrupt your computer files, causing you to lose Internet access.

Follow these steps to remove KaZaA from your machine.

1. Kill these processes:
   kazaa.exe
   mmod.exe
   pgmonitr.exe
   topsearch.dll
   adm.exe
    
2. Go tothe key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
   If you find the value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\kazaa, delete it and reboot the machine immediately.
    
3. Remove these registry items (if present) with RegEdit:
