Wincod Description

Wincod is a Trojan program that pretends to be a video codec in order to penetrate a computer. Wincod will display message boxes about errors on computer particularly video codec and system tray notifications asking you to update a certain video codec in order to be able to watch online movies and other media.

Wincod enters the system through a browser exploit or security hole. Wincod is known to promote its affiliate fake software called WinCodecPRO which has been rapidly spreading through computers worldwide. When operating inside your cyber-environment, Wincod will open gateways for other outer malware to trespass on your system, it may also disable visiting security websites.
