This great software lets you
"see" what is behind the
asterisks, so you can see
your actual password when you
need it. The software comes in
two versions - Lite and Pro.
Password Spectator Lite is a
freeware program and works
only for websites if you have
Internet Explorer 5.0 or
above. Password Spectator Pro
works both with Internet sites
and with software applications
that require entering
passwords.
This software works with the
overwhelming majority of
applications; the only
exception are the programs
that actually "store"
asterisks behind the
asterisks. Luckily, Password
Spectator Pro is sold on a
try-before-you-buy basis,
which means you don't pay in
advance. Instead you are given
a substantial period of time
to try and test the software
to make sure it is the
application you've been
looking for. Bulk buyers and
corporations purchasing
multiple licenses get
substantial discounts.
Online Test of Password
Spectator
With Password Spectator you
will be able to read the
following sample passwords:
Remark: You need to view this
page with Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5 (or better) for the
password recovery to work with
web pages.
Limitations: This
utility works well with most
password screens you will
encounter on a MS Windows
system, such as the password
fields on the ISP dial-up
dialog, within CuteFTP or
Outlook Express. However, it
does not work with
applications that do not
actually store the password
"behind" the asterisks e.g.
the Windows NT User Manager.
The standard password recovery
works on Win 95, 98, ME,
Windows NT, Windows 2000 and
Windows XP (all Editions). The
WEB password recovery is
designed for use with
Microsoft Internet Explorer
5.0 (or better) and works on
all Windows platforms.
